Faskally Forest

Wander through forest paths, enjoy the views across the loch, and take in the calm of the surrounding woods.

In summer and early autumn, the water lily lake is simply breathtaking - simply one of the most beautiful views in the area.

Just a quick drive from Pitlochry, this woodland trail is straight out of a fairytale. Walk beneath enormous Douglas firs, follow the River Braan, and stop at Ossian’s Hall for a beautiful view of the waterfall. A perfect half-day outing for nature lovers.

One of Scotland’s most famous viewpoints, Queen’s View overlooks the beautiful Loch Tummel with sweeping Highland scenery and the distant peak of Schiehallion. It’s an easy stop with a short walk to the viewpoint.

Best time to visit: early morning or sunset for the most magical light.

1. Sightseeing

Overlooking Pitlochry and the golf course, Craigower Hill is a peaceful walk that rewards you with sweeping views across the Tummel Valley and beyond to Ben Vrackie and Schiehallion.

The trail starts near the village of Moulin and takes about 1–1.5 hours round trip - perfect for a morning hike or sunset stroll.

Hidden in peaceful woodland just outside Pitlochry, Black Spout Waterfall is a beautiful 60-metre cascade surrounded by forest trails and wildlife.

The walk begins near Blair Athol Distillery and takes around 20 - 30 minutes through quiet woodland paths to reach the falls. It’s a scenic walk, especially beautiful in autumn when the trees turn golden.

And these are just the beginning - the Highlands are full of beautiful hidden spots waiting to be discovered.

Known as “Scotland’s Theatre in the Hills,” Pitlochry Festival Theatre offers a wonderful programme of plays, musicals, and live performances throughout the year.

Set beside the River Tummel and surrounded by beautiful woodland, it’s one of the most unique theatre settings in Scotland. Many visitors enjoy dinner or drinks at the theatre restaurant before a show.

Just a short walk from the apartments, it’s a perfect evening activity while staying in Pitlochry. 🎭

Take a short drive north of Pitlochry to Blair Castle, one of Scotland’s most impressive historic homes and the ancient seat of the Dukes of Atholl. The castle has over 700 years of history, with beautifully preserved rooms, grand halls, and fascinating displays that tell the story of Highland life through the centuries.

There are also lovely woodland and riverside walks nearby, making it a perfect place to spend a relaxed afternoon exploring both history and nature.

Often called the “Harrods of the Highlands,” the House of Bruar is a well-known stop just north of Pitlochry. It offers a wide range of Scottish clothing, gifts, whisky, and local produce, along with a popular food hall, bakery, and restaurant.

Behind the main building, a scenic woodland path leads to the Bruar Falls, a beautiful short walk with views of waterfalls and forest scenery. It’s a great place to browse, enjoy some local food, and take a peaceful walk in nature.
